Puna Buddaz

 I was about 13 when I heard about Puna Buddaz, because my uncle Abel at that time had bragged about it in 1983. He told me that it trumped over Maui Wowie, Kona Gold and Kaui Electric, so ever since then it stuck in my head.

So for nostalgia and the controversy about "da original one hitta quitta" I pulled the trigga on getting it. 

Couple years ago I had a bad run ordering a batch, so since then shied away from attempting another until the 28th of August 2025.

Timeline:

  • Ordered Puna Buddaz from Pua Mana 'Ohana on the 28th of August
  • Order shipped on the 29th of August
  • Order received 5 days later on the 4th of September
  • Germination process started on October 16, 2025 - Optimum consistent temperature is between 70-85°F

Started 10 seeds for germination on October 16, 2025
  1. Actually started at the beginning of October, but the weather change may have disturbed the process and lost 10 seeds.
  2. So restarted again with (some faulty cracked) seeds into shot glass on a heating mat set to 80 degrees and one already dropped at about 15:00 hours (probably cracked 🤣).
Probably sink some more if at least seven don't pop.
